2026 Dive Team registration is now open!
WELCOME TO RC FINS DIVING!
Get ready for an amazing Summer 2026!
The Fins Dive Team is a fun and active group of kids who love to dive! Any child member of Rock Creek Pool may join the dive team if they can swim one length of the pool and tread water for one minute in the deep end. Usually, children aged 6-18 are members of the dive team. The dive team welcomes children who have never tried diving before as well as those who have been on the team for years!
Dive League Rock Creek Pool is in Division I of the Montgomery County Diving League (MCDL). Other pools in our division include Merrimack Park, North Chevy Chase, Manor Woods and Tanterra.
2026 Season The dive season begins Wednesday, May 27 and concludes the week of July 19.
Registration is Now Open! Please note that all divers must (a) be equity members of Rock Creek Pool or have summer swim privileges; and (b) complete online registration prior to attending a practice.
Costs: Registration is now $155 per diver for the season. During registration you will also be charged $20 to cover mandatory insurance provided by MCDL. No one can dive without registering. If you would like to try diving for two weeks, you should register and pay in full. If you decide not to continue, notify us by June 13 and we will refund the $155 registration fee less a $15 processing fee (charged to us by Square and Swimtopia). The insurance fee is non-refundable and has covered you for the two week trial period.
Practices The dive team practices Mon-Fri during the summer. Each practice is 45 minutes long and will begin Wednesday, May 27.
Through June 17: Daily practice at 5:15 pm and 6:15 pm, come when you can!
After that, practices will be at 4:15 pm, 5:15 pm, and 6:15 pm. Generally, younger divers go to earlier practices BUT it's flexible based on your availability.
Dive Meets All divers are welcome to participate in every Sunday dive meet. Meets are a fun opportunity for divers to showcase their hard work in a team-spirited atmosphere. All Dive meets begin at 4pm. Pre-meet warm up at home starts at 2:30pm; pre-meet warm up for away meets - 2pm at Rock Creek and 3:30pm at the away pool.

June 28 - Glenwood at Rock Creek
July 5 - Tanterra AT Rock Creek
July 12 - Rock Creek AT North Chevy Chase
July 19 - Division I divisional meet AT Rock Creek 7am-2pm
Judge and Ref Training
Summer diving relies on parents to serve as referees and judges. Training is provided and you can shadow a current ref or judge before you work on your own. Training dates for MCDL Judges and Referees will be announced here as soon as they are available.
Parent Volunteering - Our season can't happen without all our terrific parent volunteers! Everything is easy to learn and we'll train you before you do it! To sign up to volunteer, click here to go to the schedule and then click on each date to see the available jobs. We ask each family to volunteer at least 5 times throughout the summer.

- Meet table workers
- Meet photographers
- Home meet concessions
- Home meet hospitality
- Away meet tent schleppers
- Provide Monday Funday popsicles (reimbursement available)
- Home meet set up and clean up
- Friday Pasta Party helpers
Once summer arrives, look to the right sidebar and click on job sign up for any of the events listed and you can pick what job you'd like to do. Exception: don't sign up for judging or ref'ing unless you have been certified.
Team suit and spirit wear:
Generally dive team members wear a red and black suit. Each year a new suit is chosen, but you are welcome to wear any suit you like. You can see the team suit using this link: (use the password: fins). You can also use this team store to buy team spirit wear. This store will remain open all season and when you order the items will be shipped directly to your home. You will receive one t-shirt per diver registration.
Friday Pasta Parties Fins swim and dive teams gather weekly for a potluck and lots of spirit. Dinner starts at 6:30 pm. BYOPasta (or another dish to share). Followed by fun spirit activities with coaches.
