1. Season standings and All Star Results

We ended the season where we began, in 3rd place in the division to Merrimack Park’s first and Tanterra’s second.  You know what that means?  We’re going back to Tanterra next year for our dual meet with them!  The league uses a formula based on ranking to assign who dives against whom and where so the third place team will always dive against the second place team at the second place team’s pool.  Someday we will finish in a place that gets  Tanterra down to Rock Creek!

Glenwood finished last and so is headed back down to division 2 and Old Georgetown finished first in Div 2, so they will be back up in Div 1 next year.

2. Diver Gifts, paper plate awards and dive sheets

If you missed the banquet, please drop by the pool and pick up your child’s gift, paper plate award and season dive sheets.  How to find them: go into the storage room to the right of the vending machine; go into the inner room; look on the wire shelves right in front of you - they are in the middle of the middle shelf in an open cardboard box.  You will see plastic tubes about 8”x4” with a name on a label on the container, then there is a pile of dive sheets/paper plate awards in the box too.  Some names I remember seeing - Lola, the Conners, Hannah, and about 10 others.

3. Team Expenses and reimbursement

Did you buy something for the team this summer and not submit receipts?  If so, please let me know how much you spent and what you bought.  If you would like reimbursement, please let me know that too.  Even if you don’t want reimbursement, please let me know so we have an accurate accounting of what the season costs.

4. Pass on your old RC Fins swim and dive t-shirts

Dive mom and creative, awesome seamstress, Judy Smith, has offered to collect vintage (and not so) RC Fins t-shirts.  She will be making 2 t-shirt quilts over the winter that we will raffle off next summer.  Details of the raffle at the start of next season … If you have a shirt to contribute please drop it at the front desk in a bag with my name on it.

5. Next year, already!

It takes more than a village to run the dive team.  We’d really like to find some folks to take on specific roles next season to help run things … please consider these and speak to us if you’d like more information or are ready to take one on!  I promise I won’t bring it up if I see you on deck this summer, but starting next January, watch out, here I come asking!

Concessions - plan and manage - it’s all spelled out in writing so you can just copy that or make it your own (must be available at all home meets which are likely to be June 14 and 28 and July 12, 2020)

Accounting - please! make our budget, keep track of our expenses - you could start NOW - we need to account for the past season and make next season’s budget

Banquet Planning - this year the swim rep did a ton of the work himself.  Our banquet planners helped where they could, but if we identify them before the season starts they might be able to lighten his load.

End of Season Diver Gifts - we’ll give you a budget and you can figure out what to get or make for the kids.

Thanks for all you do to make the pool and the dive team a super fun place to spend the summer!  We love it and love hanging out and getting to know you and your kids!
