Weekly Updates

Congratulations RC fins for a great meet against Manor Woods last Sunday securing a win 52-38! Our divers did an amazing job cheering on their teammates and showing their best diving!

This Sunday will be the last regular season dive meet at NCC. This is one of our favorites and only 5 min from RC! We hope all divers will be able to attend! Please rsvp in swimtopia to let us know who can make it.

The last practice of the season for divers not attending divisionals will be next Monday July 15.. It will be a Monday Funday and our Parent Dive Meet! The parent dive meet will happen during the last practice time from 6:15-7. This is a fan favorite every year! Any parents interested in participating, let us know! You can perform any dives, jumps or cannonballs you like. Each parent can perform 3 dives and will be judged by our kid critics. Good luck!

Divers going to divisionals will practice next week and there will be only one practice each day week at 5:15. Two kids in each age group can compete in the divisional meet which will be the following Sunday July 21. This meet is in the morning at 7am at Seven Locks Pool. Divers will compete against the top 2 divers from all the pools in our division (usually about 12 kids). If your child is diving, we will contact you with more specific timing and information for the day. If you would like to cheer on the team, come by Seven Locks pool anytime between 8am-1pm next Sunday!

Next week, the swim and dive teams will go to Beaver Dam on Tuesday July 16. All families are welcomed but it is not geared toward kids younger than 9-10. Usually kids leave the RC area around 10 to arrive at the quarry at 11 when it opens. This place is a swimming hole quarry near Baltimore designed for kids and adults who are very confident swimmers. In the past it has been cash only so be prepared for that. Check out the Beaver Dam website for specifics.
Next Friday night is the final pasta party of the season. Feel free to bring your family and a dish to share.  After dessert there will be spirit activities: hair dying, sign making and car decorating in preparation for divisional swim and dive meets.
Finally, the end of season banquet will be on Sunday evening July 21 at 5:00 catered by Moby Dick House of Kabob. You can come to the banquet and purchase food through the link Sarah sent earlier this week, but you also can just come without buying the dinner. Just pack your own food and RSVP that you are joining the party.  Either way, please rsvp on the swimtopia site so we can ensure we have enough seating for everyone. There will be fun, awards, trophies and team and senior slide shows after dark.
Good luck with the last weekend of the regular season!
Best,
Dawn and Sarah
